Assistant (Corporate Bookkeeping)

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual wanting to kick–start their career in accounting, focusing on bookkeeping. Working in a modern office in the heart of London’s Fitzrovia, moments away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Circus, with a friendly team, we will offer you the chance to gain that all-important experience whilst providing full study support to cement and build upon your theoretical knowledge. You will also have the chance to learn what it takes to manage a portfolio for a variety of corporate clients.

Main Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting for a portfolio of clients;
    Data entry;
  • Client bank and credit card reconciliations;
  • Raising sales invoices and processing receipts;
  • Making, monitoring and reporting on bank payments;
  • Maintain the chart of accounts;
  • Reconciling reports on Excel, QuickBooks Desktop and Online (and other software if needed);
  • Preparation of VAT returns for senior review and client approval;
  • Assisting with the maintenance and review of accounting records raising issues to relevant senior. Filling and retrieving necessary documents as needed for others;
  • Liaising directly with clients and suppliers in a timely and professional manner online, over the phone or in person;
  • Handling all aspects of the portfolio’s financial, as per the client’s needs.

    Your Experience

    • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with a focus in Maths or Accounting and Finance. (Will consider candidates educated to A-Level (or equivalent) in similar subjects).
    • GCSE grades C and above (preferably A*- B in Maths & English Language).
    Additional Information

    Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.30am – 5.30pm
    Study: AAT or ACCA study support available
