INTRODUCING OUR NEW PARTNER: PEMBE OZORAN
With over 30 years of entertainment industry expertise, Pembe reflects on her career journey with SRLV so far and the steps which led her to become one of our newest partners.
Pembe Ozoran first discovered her passion for the entertainment industry after starting her career at leading business management practice, Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman (GRF). However, she truly found her “home” when she joined our Creative Division, following the merger of GRF’s London business with SRLV in 2011.
From audit supervisor to manager, senior manager, director and now partner, Pembe has balanced a successful career with bringing up a family. And, as our lead partner for the theatre industry, she has been instrumental in the growth of SRLV’s business and clients over the years, as well as playing a vital role in nurturing our next generation of talent.
Congratulations on your promotion. How do you feel about becoming an SRLV partner?
It feels like a natural progression. For many years, I was happy working as a Senior Manager as I wanted to prioritise my family, but as my child grew older, I found more time-flexibility and was ready to take the next steps. I feel very proud to make partner and be leading our Theatre team and mentoring the next generation of talent.
What do you like most about working at SRLV?
SRLV feels like home. I’ve worked with many of the team for over 30 years which is a long time! I’ve grown up with the people here and watched the company expand and diversify. While SRLV has evolved from a small to a mid-tier firm, the culture has always remained the same – everyone cares for everybody and looks out for each other. We are true professionals with a passion for our craft, but we also have a laugh and make memories together. There isn’t anywhere else I would rather be.
How has your career developed over the years?
I’ve progressed steadily through the firm; from audit supervisor to manager, then senior manager, director, and now partner. This progression wouldn’t have been possible without the guidance and support of the SRLV partners I’m also grateful to the team members I’ve mentored along the way; working with them created a dynamic exchange of ideas, encouraged creative thinking, and inspired me to keep evolving, both professionally and personally.
Do you have any advice for those aspiring to become a partner?
If you want to progress, don’t expect others to pick up on your abilities automatically. You need to make your special strengths known and communicate that you’re ready to take the next step in your career. Ask your manager what you need to do to progress and show them you can do it, rather than waiting for them to notice.
What are you hoping to achieve as an SRLV partner?
I’m excited to continue growing and expanding the theatre team and supporting our clients with new UK and worldwide productions.
Lastly, if you weren’t in this profession, what would you be doing?
I would also love to have been a lecturer; mentoring and training others to live up to their fullest potential.
