SRLV WELCOMES FIRST HR PARTNER
WEST-END accountancy firm, SRLV, has announced the appointment of its first HR partner, Nicola O’Shea, as it looks to invest in new talent and expand its 300-strong team.
Nicola, who is a Fellow of the CIPD (Chartered FCIPD), joined SRLV as a director in 2023 and has led the firm’s recruitment drive, with a 77 per cent increase in staff numbers over the past three years. As well as new HR policies, she has helped launch a partner mentorship scheme for senior managers and directors, and has overseen the expansion of SRLV’s intern and graduate training programmes.
Over her 30-year career, Nicola has held senior roles at top-tier Legal 500 firm, Bindmans LLP and international consultancy firm, Kaiser Associates.
Commenting on her appointment, Nicola, said: “I’m delighted to join SRLV’s partnership. Appointments of HR professionals to partner are rare in professional services, so it’s testament to the firm and the value it places on people and relationships.”
“It is also tribute to the whole HR team and the support we provide to staff and the ongoing growth of the firm, which is set to expand by a further 15 per cent over the coming year,” she said.
“Whilst my team and I are striving to make the firm an even better place to work, this isn’t through wholesale change. Building on SRLV’s strong culture of support to create an environment for our people to deliver their best work will always be at the heart of what we do.”
SRLV executive chairman, Marc Voulters, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Nicola as our first HR partner. It is a significant appointment and reflects the vital role she plays in developing staff at all levels and our next generation of partners.”
“Our staff are our most valuable asset, so we believe it should follow that we have a partner dedicated to their wellbeing and development,” he said.
Nicola is part of a new wave of partners at SRLV, following the appointment of three new partners in late 2025, with plans to expand the 20-strong partnership further over the next few years.
“To support our partner recruitment drive, we are also developing the next generation of talent within SRLV,” said Nicola. “This includes our partner mentorship scheme for senior managers, directors and newly appointed partners, alongside tailored personal training and professional development.”
As part of their career development, SRLV also supports staff who want to experience different areas of the business. “We support staff moves between teams, such as a business manager looking to specialise in tax,” Nicola said. “It can be a sensitive issue, but when handled correctly, it encourages talent to thrive, whilst strengthening relationships across teams which is good for the whole firm.”
