About Elie

Starting my career with a 3-year stint at HMRC working on high net worth individuals and professional partnerships, I then moved to private practice at KPMG. Here I worked predominantly with Japanese and Korean companies in the UK, advising on relocation, secondments, and tax equalisation for expatriate employees. I further developed this specialism at PwC, working with multi-nationals on their secondment programmes to and from the UK and advising on compensation and benefit packages.

After taking an 18-month career break, volunteering at an orphanage in Nepal, I spent a number of years with a boutique firm in the City specialising in residence and domicile issues for private clients, many of whom were City bankers and hedge fund managers.

I am now a Senior Manager in the Private Client Tax team of SRLV, and have a very wide ranging and interesting portfolio. My clients include entrepreneurs, expatriates, law partnerships, owner managed businesses, and ultra high net worth individuals in a wide range of industries. I also enjoy working on the tax affairs of trusts and deceased estates, including probate work.

On any given day, I can be identifying and providing solutions for issues ranging from IHT for trusts and estates to property taxation such as stamp duty land tax (SDLT) and capital gains tax (CGT), determining residence and domicile, advising on complicated relocations and cross-border working, and providing tax efficient remuneration planning on secondments, termination payments, compensation, and benefits.

My role is to ask the questions that will generate ideas and initiatives to add real value. I am also keenly aware of the sensitivities and nuances that can be involved in family businesses. I assess carefully and empathetically to best help my clients to navigate sometimes complex and stressful situations. I’m here to listen and understand, to offer guidance and solutions, with insight and balance.
