Jacob Joinson

I trained with SRLV, joining the graduate programme in August 2015. I’m now an Audit Manager in the Corporate team, specialising in audit and assurance for the music, entertainment, luxury retail and premium hospitality industries.

My main focus day-to-day is the delivery of audit and accounts preparation services to clients, providing support, advice and assistance throughout what can be a complex process. Taking clients through this process and working with each other throughout to reach our common goal is highly rewarding. Together with meeting the audit and financial reporting requirements, we are always looking to identify opportunities through which our clients can optimise their business’s operations and general running.

Knowing that there is someone on hand to answer their questions at any time fosters a relationship of real trust and many of our clients have been with us for years. Working in a constructive, collaborative way ensures we benefit from each other’s expertise and knowledge, and this approach ensures the process runs smoothly and efficiently too.

Part of my role is also to support fellow team members in their development as they work on each audit engagement. SRLV’s ethos embraces individuality and prioritises personalised progress; learning from others in the firm is central to this and I really enjoy the coaching role I play here.

One of the many great things about being with SRLV is the approach to the team and being treated like a family member. Recently, I have been fortunate enough to be able to take a sabbatical and travelled to countries across Asia, Central & South America as well as spending time in Australia and New Zealand.

It was great to experience new cultures and environments and see some amazing examples of the World’s natural beauty along the way. This trip allowed me to meet a huge range of people; communicating with them and finding common interests is something that I try to take into my approach at work when meeting new clients and people.
