Matthew Downs

I’m a Manager in the Creative team, specialising in music and entertainment clients, including TV and radio presenters.

My main focus is on accounts, business management and consultancy and tour accounting. I take care of my clients’ daily financial and business affairs, as well as their financial reporting. I report to management and to clients directly on financial positions, responding to a wide range of requests, and helping to manage their cashflow.

I work closely with touring promoters and agents on tax planning for international tours which can be highly complex as it involves dealing with different countries’ systems. I also liaise with my clients’ managers on budgeting for tours and managing clients’ changing financial needs. Always being a step ahead here, and tackling any potential flashpoints before they arise, gives my clients confidence and creates a high level of trust.

I’m proud to have been the first ever intern at SRLV, starting in July 2013. I completed a year’s internship and then returned to SRLV permanently as an Assistant in July 2015, progressing through the ranks since then. Building relationships of trust with clients, as well as providing carefully considered solutions and guidance as they face new challenges and opportunities, makes my role varied and interesting.
