Pooja Vatsa

I’m a Royalty Audit Manager in the Creative team, specialising in the music business. I joined SRLV in 2023 after stints with other specialist firms, as well as Universal Music. I cover everything from record labels to publishing companies and also work directly with artists, writers and their management.

My main focus is on my clients’ royalty audits, ensuring that all the income received is correct, often from multiple sources. I also double check that the royalties they’re receiving adhere to all the specific clauses within the particular artist’s or the writer’s agreement.

For musicians and artists, royalty audits can be a hugely valuable service, with our work often resulting in potential claims and sizeable additional income. Building trust is at the heart of the work I do with clients; they can be entirely confident that the record and publishing companies they deal with and are represented by are being thoroughly scrutinised. My time at Universal Music gave me an invaluable insight into how these companies operate so I know where to look and the questions to ask.

Growing up and throughout my career, I have both studied and played music, together with writing and recording. This gives me a true understanding of my clients’ world, and their passion for it. The ability to put myself in their shoes gives me even greater satisfaction when a royalty audit has a positive outcome for them. They know that I have their best interests front and centre in everything I do – this level of confidence is one of the reasons many of our clients have been with us so long.
