I started my career at a record company (London Records), and then spent twenty years in artist management, including being part of the set up of 45 Management, before pivoting into accountancy practice. Working within the entertainment industry for the majority of my career has given me invaluable up-close experience of the business – the highs and lows, joys and stresses of being a recording artist, composer and actor, and what matters to them. I also still work with record labels, which have their own particular set of demands.
With so many things to deal with day-to-day, my clients need me to be a true specialist when it comes to handling their accounts, royalties and business management. I understand how important it is to keep track of all income streams, especially in the digital sphere, and my clients can always rely on me and my team to manage the full 360 degree picture, anticipating issues before they arise and enabling them to expand and grow.
With so much experience in the industry, I feel lucky to be able to bring that value to my work as a Manager, and to build my expertise within different aspects of the media and entertainment landscape. It also means that I bring a depth of understanding to my clients which builds both confidence and trust. This knowledge enables me to ask the right questions and it also makes me very efficient, which clients always appreciate!
For me, what sets SRLV apart, for both clients and employees, is the wealth of knowledge within the firm and the supportive ethos. My colleagues are always happy to help and advise, which means that I’m constantly learning – someone always knows the answer.
